What are you looking for?

John Lubbuck said “What we see depends mainly on what we are looking for”.  This is so true.

Here is another quote.  This one is from Sophocles, the great playwriter… “Look and you will find it”.  Both of these quotes makes me think of Luke 11:9.   And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

 What are you expecting?

The late great Sam Walton said…”High expectations are the key to everything”.  I’m convinced that we don’t see things happen in our lives because we don’t expect anything to happen.

What about church?  When you come to a service, what are you looking for and what are your expectations?  We don’t see God move in our lives because of our own non-expectations.  Seek after Him and expect Him to meet your every need.

The next time you walk in the church door ask yourself… “What am I looking for and what are my expectations today?”

Look for something great today and Expect to meet with God.

  1. Great stuff, Deron! It seems like sometimes we all have the tendency to make finding God’s presence such a big ordeal, when all He asks is for us to simply expect it, and to look for it.

  2. Deron, great blog. The look and feel is beautiful and the blog is kickin!
